According to Pennsylvania State Police, the tragic incident occurred Friday morning on northbound Interstate 81 near mile marker 47.1 in South Middleton Township, Cumberland County. Investigators say a tractor-trailer operated by David Rodis Lynn III, of Round Rock, Texas, failed to stop for slowing traffic and collided with another vehicle. The impact led to a chain-reaction crash involving seven vehicles.
The collision resulted in a devastating scene, with the tractor-trailer and another vehicle catching fire. Sadly, Jessica Moore was identified by the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office as the person who lost her life in the incident. Other occupants involved in the crash sustained injuries and were transported to Holy Spirit Medical Center and UPMC Carlisle for medical treatment.
Authorities have indicated that Lynn will face a charge of homicide by motor vehicle in connection with the crash. The investigation remains an important part of understanding the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident. Jessica’s cause of death is pending an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday, according to the information released by authorities.
