It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Livingstone College community mourns the passing of student-athlete Gabriella Muñoz. Her loss has left a deep void among her teammates, coaches, classmates, faculty, staff, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Gabriella represented the very best of what it means to be a Blue Bear. She was a dedicated student, a talented athlete, and a person whose kindness and character made a lasting impression on everyone around her. As a standout member of the softball program, Gabriella demonstrated commitment, discipline, and passion both on the field and in her daily life.
Her achievements in the classroom reflected the same determination and excellence she brought to athletics. During both semesters of the 2025–2026 academic year, Gabriella earned a 4.0 GPA, while maintaining an impressive 3.75 cumulative GPA. Her academic success was a testament to her work ethic, perseverance, and dedication to reaching her goals.
Beyond her accomplishments, Gabriella will be remembered most for the qualities that made her truly special. Her kindness, humility, compassion, and infectious smile brightened the lives of those around her. Whether as a teammate, friend, student, or member of the campus community, she brought positivity and warmth wherever she went.
As the Livingstone College community comes together to grieve this tremendous loss, we ask everyone to keep Gabriella’s family, teammates, coaches, friends, and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers. We recognize the profound pain of this loss and stand together in offering support, comfort, and compassion to all who are mourning.
Although Gabriella’s time with us was far too short, the impact she made will continue to be felt for years to come. Her legacy will live on through the memories she created, the friendships she built, and the many lives she touched during her time as a Blue Bear.
