In Loving Memory of Christopher Evan Sharp: Beloved Husband, Father, Veteran, and Firefighter Remembered
Family, friends, and the communities he faithfully served are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Christopher Evan Sharp, who passed away on Friday, July 11, 2026, at the age of 36. Though his life was far too short, Chris leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, courage, and selfless service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Born on August 3, 1989, in Cleveland, Ohio, Chris was the beloved son of Darrell Sharp and the late Robin Matthews. He attended Warrensville Heights High School, where he began forming the friendships and values that would define the rest of his life.
To those closest to him, Chris was known for his infectious smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering devotion to his family. His life revolved around two guiding principles: his deep faith and his love for the people he cherished most. Whether offering a helping hand to a neighbor or spending time with his children, Chris lived with kindness, humility, and generosity every day.
On July 25, 2010, Chris married the love of his life, Danielle Sharp (Debose). Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and faith while raising their three children—Jayden, Arianna, and Carter—who were the center of his world. As a husband and father, Chris was devoted to providing for his family, encouraging his children, and creating lasting memories they will treasure forever.
Chris also dedicated his life to serving others. Answering the call to serve his country, he joined the military and proudly served, including a deployment to Afghanistan. His commitment to protecting others did not end with his military service. He continued his career as a firefighter at Fort Knox, Kentucky, where he courageously responded to emergencies and placed the safety of others above his own.
Those who worked alongside Chris remember him as a dependable teammate, a dedicated public servant, and someone who approached every challenge with professionalism and compassion. His willingness to run toward danger so others could find safety reflected the extraordinary character that defined his life.
Away from work, Chris embraced the simple joys of life. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, relaxing with his favorite video games, and fixing just about anything that needed repair around the house. He also had an unforgettable sense of humor that kept family and friends smiling.
One of the stories that loved ones will always remember was Chris’s playful dislike of running. While he would never hesitate to rush into a burning building to save a life, he jokingly insisted that running purely for exercise was something he simply could not understand. It was this combination of courage and humor that made him so beloved.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Robin Matthews.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Danielle Sharp; his beloved children, Jayden, Arianna, and Carter Sharp; his father, Darrell Sharp; his brother, Darrell Sharp Jr.; his grandmother, Anna Sharp; and numerous extended family members, friends, fellow service members, firefighters, and members of the community who will forever cherish his memory.
As news of Chris’s passing has spread, heartfelt tributes have poured in from those whose lives he touched through his service, friendship, and unwavering kindness. Whether they knew him through the military, the fire service, his church, or simply as a loyal friend, many describe him as a man who always put others first and whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Chism Family Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life honoring Chris’s faith and remarkable life will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service.
Although Christopher Evan Sharp’s life ended far too soon, the example he set through his love for his family, his faith, and his courageous service to both his country and community will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in the lives he protected, the family he cherished, and the countless people who were blessed to know him.
May Christopher Evan Sharp rest in eternal peace, and may his family find comfort in the love that surrounds them and in the enduring legacy of a life lived with honor, compassion, and unwavering devotion to others.
