With profound sadness and broken hearts, family, friends, and members of the Daingerfield community are mourning the devastating loss of three young lives: Joel Ellestad, 22, Payton Butler, 24, and Ty Byrd, 20.

Their lives were tragically cut short following a head-on collision early Saturday, July 11, on U.S. Highway 259 near DeKalb, Texas. The sudden loss of Joel, Payton, and Ty has left their families, friends, and entire community grieving an unimaginable loss.

Joel, Payton, and Ty were loved by many and will be remembered for the unique ways they brought joy, friendship, and meaning into the lives of those around them.
