Joshua Haruki Betts Holly Springs NC Obituary, Death-Cavaliers and Étude Winter Guard Mourn Beloved Performer Josh Betts

With profound sadness and heartfelt sympathy, we remember Joshua Haruki Betts, lovingly known as Josh Betts, whose life came to an end in 2026 at the age of 20. His passing has left his family, friends, teammates, instructors, and the entire marching arts community grieving the loss of a talented and compassionate young man whose presence brought inspiration and joy to many.

Josh will forever be remembered as a dedicated performer, a supportive teammate, and a cherished member of the communities he was part of. Through his involvement with The Cavaliers Color Guard and Étude Winter Guard, he shared his passion, creativity, and determination with everyone around him. His commitment to excellence and his love for performance made him a respected and admired member of the marching arts family.

During his time with The Cavaliers Color Guard, Josh participated in the 2024 and 2025 Drum Corps International seasons, creating lasting memories and meaningful friendships with fellow performers, staff members, alumni, and supporters. His dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm reflected the passion he carried for the activity and the people who shared that journey with him.

Josh was also an important part of the Étude Winter Guard family during the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The organization remembered him for his determined spirit, kind heart, incredible talent, and the positive energy he brought to rehearsals and performances. Fellow cast members and instructors have shared their sorrow while honoring the impact Josh had on the team and the lasting memories he helped create.

Beyond his accomplishments as a performer, Josh will be remembered most for who he was as a person. Friends and teammates describe him as someone who encouraged others, brought warmth to every room, and made those around him feel supported and valued.
