The community of Columbus, Nebraska is mourning the death of Josiah Clarke, a beloved son whose passing on July 8 has left his family, friends and loved ones heartbroken after he succumbed to extensive injuries.
Josiah’s mother, Michele Peace, shared the heartbreaking news that her son, Josiah Clark Peace, passed away late in the afternoon after fighting severe injuries. In a deeply personal tribute, she described him as her “sweet dear boy” who brought love and joy to so many throughout his life. Expressing her faith amid overwhelming grief, Michele wrote that she believes they will one day be reunited and thanked everyone who had prayed for Josiah and supported their family during his battle.
The loss has prompted an outpouring of compassion across the Columbus community. Kelsie Mark offered heartfelt condolences to Shelbie Clarke and the family while announcing a fundraiser to help with unexpected expenses. Community members are scheduled to gather on Tuesday, July 14, at Bo’s West, where 10 percent of all food sales, along with raffle and split-the-pot proceeds, will be donated to assist the family as they navigate this difficult time.
