Robert Stephen “Bobby” Jones Obituary, Seagrove, NC — Robert Stephen “Bobby” Jones, age 57, of Seagrove, North Carolina, passed away on July 12, 2026, following an accident at his home. His passing has left family, friends, and members of the community mourning the loss of a man remembered for his dedication, passions, and the connections he built throughout his life.
Bobby was born in Montgomery County on October 19, 1968, to James Robert Jones and Barbara Steed. Throughout his life, he developed a strong work ethic and spent more than 24 years working in the racing industry, where he built valuable experience and lasting relationships.
Beyond his professional career, Bobby was known for his love of the outdoors and his enthusiasm for hands-on hobbies. He enjoyed camping, riding his Harleys, traveling, and restoring old cars, activities that reflected his adventurous spirit and appreciation for craftsmanship.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Melissa “Lisa” McDaniel Jones, of the home; his father, James Robert Jones of Cheraw, South Carolina; sister Ashley Jones and brother Shane Jones, both of Cheraw; sister-in-law Debbie Wallace (Perry) of Star; nephew Pierce Wallace of Star; and his beloved pets, Jackson and Daisy.
His passing has brought deep sadness to those who knew and loved him. Family and friends are remembering Bobby for the life he shared with others, the memories he created, and the impact he made through his work, interests, and relationships.
A Celebration of Life service for Bobby Jones will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at White Oak Meeting House, located at 2190 US Hwy 220 Alt. N, Star, NC 27356. The Jones family is being served by Phillips Funeral Home in Star.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of the Uwharries, P.O. Box 231, Troy, NC 27371. Bobby’s memory will continue to be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him, and condolences are extended to everyone grieving his loss.
